PTA combines with NADRA and collects the identity data, like full name, address, and CNIC number of that person. It is necessary to identify that only the original citizen has bought the SIM.

PTA also verifies the CNIC number through NADRA’s database to ensure it is valid and not expired. After verification, the SIM is linked to the citizen’s profile in the PTA system. Mobile operators are required to submit this information before activating the SIM.

As of 2026, PTA oversees more than 200 million mobile subscribers, 2 million Fiber To The Home (FTTH) users, and 150 million broadband connections. Also, the authority has gained Rs. 1 trillion in revenue in 2025.

When a citizen purchases a SIM, PTA verifies their identity by linking it with NADRA records, including their full name, CNIC number, and address.
