Required Documents

You need to have the following documents ready before you start the process.

  • CNIC of both the applicant and the owner of the SIM.
  • Family Registration Certificate (FRC) from NADRA
  • Death Certificate (in case of a deceased SIM owner)
  • Original SIM card

Now proceed to the application process:

Visit the SIM Operator’s Customer Service Center or Franchise

Once you have collected the required documents, you need to visit the SIM network operator’s customer service center or franchise with the applicant.

Provide the Proof of Relationship with SIM Owner

You can get the ownership of your blood relatives who are deceased. In this case, you need to prove your relationship with the deceased person. For this, you need to get an FRC from NADRA and the death certificate of that deceased relative.

Biometric Verification (MBVS)

PAT mandates biometric verification for all transactions. Therefore, you need to perform a fingerprint verification at the service center. However, if the SIM owner is deceased, then this step will be excluded from the ownership transfer process.

Usage Verification

To verify the usage of a SIM, the customer service agent will ask you for either the last call history or the balance of the SIM card.

NOC (If More Than One Heir)

In case of more than one heir, you need to have a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from all other heirs.

Transfer of Ownership

Now the SIM operator will submit the request to transfer the SIM ownership. This can take up to 7 working days to update the ownership details.

  • If the SIM is registered with JazzCash, then make sure that the account will also transfer.
  • Unclaimed SIMs registered under a deceased person’s CNIC will be blocked by the government.
